Pilgrimage to Rome Italy: (May)
I had the privilege to travel to Rome through the University of Mary’s Rome program. I stayed at the Universities Rome Campus and studied Benedictine Values and St. Benedict. It was a life changing experience to be able to learn about my faith in class and then go out into Rome and surrounding cities to experience it first hand. I was able to travel to several areas in Europe where I learned how to communicate with people who do not speak my language. I learned how to adapt to my surroundings and experience a new culture. I am very thankful for my Rome experience for it has shaped who I am today.

ELA Trip to China (May 7-17)
As a part of being accepted into senior year of the Emerging Leader Academy we were given the amazing opportunity of traveling to Shanghai and Beijing, China. Our time there was spent observing in the Shanghai American School, learning about the culture, exploring Shanghai and traveling to Beijing where we visited major landmarks; such as the Great Wall of China and Tienanmen Square. During this trip I experienced what it was like to be the minority. As a teacher and a professional I learned how to be more accommodating and aware of people from different cultures and beliefs.
